A. Actually, the problems Obama inherited started in many ways before the Bush administration, and though he references "inheriting" things, he tends to not single out he prior administration alone. (And for what it's worth, it was the Democratically controlled Congress that was most involved in and aware of economic issues, etc.). Anyway, Bush got caught off-guard by 9/11. He also had the dot-com bubble popping to deal with. Both were key inheritances from Clinton (as was Saddam Hussein having not been dealt with in the Mideast following the early 90's Gulf War). Anyway, he got diverted onto national security matters for an extended period, and to whoever's credit, the country didn't get hit again following 9/11. The primary function of… [cont.]
